Weekend Update, a la SNL

House-closed on Thursday. YAY! We will hopefully get possession sometime next weekend, but should know more tomorrow.

Weekend-Oy, am I tired. We tailgated all day yesterday (and by "all day", I mean we got to campus shortly before noon) and went to the game last night...it was great fun, even though we lost. And some asshole snuck into our row, and since Jason was on the end, he either got six inches of bleacher to sit on and no one in his lap, or an actual seat to sit on but me in his lap. I wanted to check tickets, find out who was in our row that wasn't supposed to be, and kick them in the balls. Fuckers. THEN, we get back to the tailgate and find out that everyone is SHITFACED. Doug wants to go to a bar but can't drive, Jeff is slurring his words and about to get his ass kicked by the people at the tailgate next to us (we don't know why, nor does Jeff), and NO ONE except for me is of any condition to drive. Not that it mattered because traffic was backed up in the parking lot for a good half an hour. Eventually, I pack four drunk guys in my car, and home we go. I have never been so glad to see my apartment.

And, I hate packing. HATE HATE HATE.

Updates all around

House: Thursday should be go time for closing. Our loan guy emailed me last night and told me to plan for a Thursday close, and he wouldn't tell me that unless he was confident that it'd happen. Good thing too, because Jason, Colleen (our realtor), our house's sellers, their agent, and I are all extremely frustrated and ready to go postal on the bank. So we should get possession roughly next Thursday (Oct. 30th), which will work out nicely considering Ohio State has a bye week that weekend and we won't have to schedule any moving we do that weekend around football. Any subsequent Saturday moving will be affected, but meh.

My immune system: hates me. I definitely have contracted the dreaded disease known as...KIDDIE CRUD. I have a man voice, it hurts to cough, and my nose is yucky. I had to use my t-shirt as a handkerchief when I was running with my sister this morning, and I HATE that. It's so yucky. But hey, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.

Is anyone else ready for this damn election to be over? I am so sick of these goddamn ads. Plus, Sarah Palin makes me want to throw something through the TV...and Jason just might divorce me over that.

Yesterday, I babysat for the two cutest kids ever-our godchildren, Chase and Kayla. They are 6 (okay, almost six...I get corrected for that regularly) and 4...I adore them, but oh my lord was I exhausted. And that was with them actually behaving! I may not have kids until I'm 35.

And last but not least...YAAAAAAY that Ohio State isn't SUCKING against Michigan State! Finally, they start playing like a team with an offense!

The sniffles, I haz them.

Could be allergies. Could be a cold, seeing as I 4o hours/week with snotnosed kids. Either way, it sucks. I have no desire to do anything. Gym? Nope. Write thank you notes? Nope. Start weeding through the basement in anticipation of moving? Nope. Work? FUCK NO. I just wanna nap, is that so bad?

House Update: No closing date yet. The mortgage company keeps nitpicking at our loan application (for example, they said the photograph on the copy of Jason's driver's license was too dark. WTF?) and it's holding stuff up. Hopefully, closing day will be next Monday or Tuesday. I just want it to be over and done with, I am sick of being the point man, so to speak, on all this shit.

Two of my most favorite people ever, Katie and Ben, are having a Halloween party in a couple of weeks. And I have NO CLUE what to wear. Suggestions?

Aaaaand my last random thought for the day...I love Chipotle. LOVE IT. That's all I got.

Why?

Seriously. I've been following this blog since I was posting on the Knot's Getting in Shape board, so for a while now. The blogger went through one miscarriage, then got pregnant again, only to find out that her son had multiple chromosomal anomalies that would result in a 99% chance that he would either die before or shortly after birth. She and her husband decided that terminating the pregnancy was not an option, and that she would carry their son as long as was medically possible. Throughout her pregnancy, she and her husband have held so tightly to their beliefs and the hope that God would heal their son and make him whole. But at the same time, they have firmly believed that whatever happens is God's will. I give them an immense amount of respect for staying so strong in their beliefs, because I don't think I could be that strong. Now, on with my rant...

Their little boy was born today, and was able to spend 16 minutes with his mommy and daddy before he passed away. WHY does that have to be God's will? WHY?! WTF? Why does God's will require people to go through the pain that these two people have gone through? From what I've read in the blog, they appear to be really nice, kind, genuinely good people. Why does something like this happen to them? It's.not.fucking.fair.

In case you can't tell, I am somewhat lapsed in my religious habits. I was raised Catholic, but have become a "Christmas and Easter" churchgoer at Jason's Methodist church since we got engaged and started living together. Maybe this is the difference between someone like me, who feels the need to question EVERYTHING, and someone who is strong in their beliefs and doesn't feel to need to question. I don't know. I do know that it seems like this couple's beliefs have gotten them through this ordeal, and I'm glad for them for that. Because I'd be mad as all fucking hell, and I imagine that holding tight to your beliefs is very likely much healthier.

But damnit, I still want to know why.

Some thoughts...

-Ohio State needs to get their act together. These three point wins are killing me.

-My hair is slightly purple. Apparently, it felt like holding onto the red my stylist put on my head today more than the brown that it was supposed to hold onto. It'll tone down. In the meantime, Jason calls me the Purple People Eater, and I call him Asshole.

-It looks like we'll be closing on the house at the end of this month. Like, on Halloween. This excites me and terrifies me at the same time.

-Jason's dad and stepmom are moving to Cincinnati. Don't be surprised if we end up with their cat-I get the vibe that, while they like Oscar well enough, the reason they ended up with him in the first place is b/c Jason's stepsister came home with him one day, and he never left. Oskie's a cool kitty though (if slightly overweight), so if this did happen I wouldn't mind horribly and neither would Jason.

-I need to finish my thankyou notes. Who wants to help?

-I also need to clean out my basement, and my closet. Again, helpers? Bueller?
