Success! (we think)

We had the house inspection today, and it went well. Far better than the one on the LAST house did. The only glaring issue is the fact that the stove (which is the original from when the house was built 20 years ago) has a small gas leak and a broken knob. So the sellers are either going to have to replace it or drop the selling price a grand or so. We'll see what happens. The other stuff we want them to fix should be fairly easy, plus there's a fair amount of stuff that we're willing to do. The stove is the main sticking point, and I don't see it being a make or break issue.

Holy hell, wind storms! We were lucky, we didn't lose power at all. A couple of power flickers on Sunday, and that was it. The clinic had power on Monday (boo!) but school was closed on Tuesday (yay!), so I got some paperwork done (double yay!) and rolled into the clinic at 1pm. Then it was back to school as usual on Weds. (boo!) Our apt lost a couple of shingles, but our new house didn't sustain any damage, and THAT'S the important thing.

We are going to the OSU game this weekend. AGAIN. Am I a bad Buckeye fan when I say that I really don't want to go tomorrow, and the only reason I am is b/c Jason's friend couldn't get off work? I have a to-do list a mile long, and had a grand plan to get SO much stuff done while Jason and Jon were at the game...and now, I can't do any of it. Bah. I know, I should be grateful we have the abundance of opportunities that we do this season...but it's so exhausting.

Now, off to bed. After I decide what I'm wearing tomorrow, that is. Hey, just because I'm not 100% thrilled to go to the game doesn't mean I'm just going to throw an outfit together. WhoTF do you think I am?

Oh.my.god.

IAMSOTIRED. Don't get me wrong-I love my Buckeyes and I love going to football games. But damn, going to two 12pm home games in a row is killing me. My ass was asleep on the couch by 8:30pm last night. 8:30! That's insane, even for me-and I love nothing more than falling asleep on the couch. Poor Jason fell asleep next to me shortly thereafter-and he NEVER does that. The kid is a night owl. But this shit is wearing us out. Especially with the way yesterday's game went. The team needs to get their acts together, before next Saturday...or they are SO fucked.

On the upside, I've already decided I'm watching the OSU/USC game at Cocktails. Why decide so far in advance, you ask? So I can make buffalo chicken dip (aka crack in a pan), duh! Oh, buffalo chicken dip, I adore you.

I actually got up and went running this morning-hooray for me! I need to get in the habit of running more, if I'm going to think about considering doing the Flying Pig 1/2 marathon next May. Or if I'm going to be in any shape to kick Jason's ass in the Turkey Trot. Because it's on, baby.

Shhh, I've got a secret....

No, I'm not pregnant. Fuck you for thinking that. We put down an offer on another house yesterday. I call it a secret because we're keeping this tidbit to ourselves for now-we are too well versed in the experience of telling everyone and their mother that we put in an offer on a house, only to have the sellers accept another offer, etc. We're trying to not get our hopes up, but it's hard not to. I just wish our realtor would call-we sent the offer yesterday afternoon, so hopefully we'll hear soon.

Alli and I did a 5k in Worthington Hills today. Our times were good and my knee and ankle behaved, so woohoo! We did have a chuckle at this dude that was hellbent and determined to stay in front of us for the whole race...because he threw up immediately after the race. Take that, douchebag!

Now that McCain has named a running mate...boy, are the next couple of months going to be fun. He'd better back off on the ads knocking Obama for lack of experience, seeing as Palin has less experience that he does-two years as state governor, and no experience at the national level. Plus, I think that hailing Palin as a "hero" for not having an abortion after she found out her child would be born with Down syndrome is NOT a wise idea-thousands of women make the same decision every week. What makes her (Palin) a hero? Not that. No more than any other woman in the same situation. And I'm not even going to touch the rumors that the baby is in fact her 16 year old daughter's, or the reports that Palin's water supposedly broke in Texas, a month before her due date, and that she FLEW BACK TO ALASKA anyway. If, in fact, she was actually pregnant, having her water break that early when she KNEW she was having a child who would be born with special needs was utterly stupid and irresponsible. But I digress.

I do NOT want to go back to work tomorrow. Having six days off has made me spoiled. Spending a few days at the lake with the Munteans and the rest of the gang was much needed, though...and then there's always football games :) Hooray football!
